So when I barely put any slight pressure on the throttle the RPM goes from 900 idle to 1500 fast idle. I mean moving the gas pedal 1/4 inch. The carb is an Edelbrock 1407. When it is hot I tried pushing the choke shut with the throttle part open, the choke didn't move. Also, for what ever reason my 727 manual valve body trans does not have 1st gear as long as it is in this fast idle state. The shifter moves from 2nd to 1st or 1st to 2nd but it stays in 2nd gear as long as it is at this faster idle. There is no kick down installed anymore. 3 speed with JW Performance with performance kits/bands installed. 2500 stall converter.

if you have a MVB, it should go to first gear.. period. has nothing to do with fast idle.
