Cats

I have not owned any animals since 1985.

This summer a black cat started hanging around the back garden since I built it a few years ago. He's friendly and apparently is well fed by someone in the neighborhood. There are 3 others that visit occasionally but are skittish.

I call him cat.

I am sorry for your loss. Our pets really make a place in our hearts, and so it hurts a lot when they pass.

Eventually Cuda will be joining her sister Dart who passed last January. I won't miss the random turds found outside the box or going through almost a dozen pee pads a day, have another old cat contributing to that too, but she has been a great cat. Daddy's girl for sure.

Sorry for the loss, I've had a few in the last few years all go around Xmas time. Luckily for me I'm not a holiday kind of guy, I can see how it would ruin it for those that are. It looks like you did a good job giving Buddy a loving home.

Yeah I have some of that older cat fun too, when one finally shuffles on I always feel a little tinge of guilt when I wake up and have relief I don't have a fresh mess waiting for me to clean up.
 
My daughter had some Christmas garlands and lights above her sliding glass door. Her two almost one year old cats kept attacking it and tearing it down so she removed it. Now they are mad and complaining loudly.
 
Sweetie is about a year old and is pretty sharp. She stays off the counter most of the time. She asks for hugs. She likes to ride around on my shoulders while I’m making coffee and puttering around the house.

Cuda has done that routine since she was a kitten. Food isn't fresh enough so she won't eat. Dad doesn't put up with that. I won't put anymore down till she eats what's there. If it still sits for a bit, back into the fridge for a couple of hours. Then her stomach rules her and she inhales it.

I chop the (1/2 can!) of leftovers up a bit w/ a few drops of water and crumble in a couple of their favorite treats. I get that "are you kidding me" look before they clean their plates.
