I am so glad I don't have any pictures of the stove repair I did a few years ago, where I had to use my garden spade to jemmy it away from the benchtop because of the build-up of solid grease.

Are pretty much all return ducts that nasty after a year, regardless of house size?

Mine has 2 returns, both have filters right from the start. That weird, but then again, I don’t know home HVAC systems.
