this video shows Gen Jack Ryan, Chief of Staff. His 2 sons graduated from the USAF Academy. The younger, Mike Ryan later became...Chief of Staff of the USAF! I sang with both the Ryan brothers in the Catholic Choir at USAFA, where my 63 Fury vert 383-3sp was among the very fastest of the cadet cars. Sadly, Jack Ryan, the elder, was killed in an F-4 on take-off from Hamilton AFB,CA. Spatial Disorientation, perhaps exacerbated by previous night on town in SF. Later, somewhat by accident, i became expert in SDO...
aThe B-36 Peacemaker originally had only 6 Wright props, but was underpowered, hence the addition of 4x J-47, same engine as B-47 and F-86. The B-47 could do half a loop...but that is a story for another time...
