any thoughts on why 70-71 challengers seem to cost more than 68-70 chargers?

Assuming same condition and drivetrain

Corvette guys buy them when they want to try to be unique, thus the cost is driven up

I have not followed either one most recently and maybe you haven't either, but with the down turn in values over the last several years I think it has negatively effected the E bodies more than the 68-70 Chargers when you are comparing like type drivetrains and options.

Sonny rather have the 68 charger R/T.......and buy a new BLACK challenger SRT8

Challenger is to Charger as...

camaro is to malibu

mustang is to torino

350z is to maxima (for the younger crowd)

it could also be due to the fact that e-bodies are smaller, and if it has a big block, all the better for power to weight ratio!
The RR's of the b bodies seem to have taken a turn down in value recently.

True muscle e-bodies (70-71) only existed for 2 years. There are far fewer of those than the b-bodies floating around. Of course their prices are higher.

Agreed. God Bless John Herlitz. We are fortunate that someone brought them to market. There is a shitload more B Bodies, and that's OK.
