Was the bulge hood with no insert available in 1971?

I think you could get one on a charger 500 with no insert. I had a friend that had a loaded up 71 charger 500 with one. Matt

Does that car have any vents near the cowl?

It almost looks like a 74 hood.

All the pictures I pulled up of Chargers with bulge hoods all had a insert,Including the one I posted. 72-74 You could get a bulge hood on a Rallye Charger only.

Tis but what I came up with too. Seems that the Charger bulge hood with no insert debuted in 1972 with the Rallye. Thanks to all for looking, researching and commenting!
