I have some 5/16" hose that has 50psi on it......EFI hose? 100 psi if I remember correctly. Reg hose? No clue, maybe 20?
My factory line is my return line and my stainless steel 3/8" fuel line is my supply line and it rakes 4 bar, 54psi with no issue so far.I'm talking about the hard line. I've always called flexible hose....hose but that said, the mid 90's Dodge's flex lines were able to take at least 50psi for the injection system on those.
More likely, plastic fuel filter burst.

Properly maintain your cars!!!
But this is normal for German cars.

I surf a few insurance auction websites and it seems unreal how many fire damaged and destroyed vehicles regularly show up.
