Baseball Sweet Swinging Slugger Is Not Dead Yet…..According to Ai.

Announcer Jack Brickhouse makes the call “Back______back______back_____ HEY HEY… He’s still alive.

Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer
Billy Williams is alive and well as of January 2026. Despite false reports, the 87-year-old legend is active, recently appearing at the 2026 Cubs Convention, and continues to be a cherished figure in baseball. He was born in 1938 and played for the Cubs from 1959 to 1974.

Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer Billy Williams famously invoked the mantra, "Good, better, best, never let it rest, until the good is better and the better is best," during his 1987 Hall of Fame induction speech. Known as "Sweet Swinging Billy," the legendary outfielder utilized this phrase, taught by a teacher, to define his consistent 16-year career with the Cubs.
  • Origin: The quote was taught to Williams by his grade school teacher, Lily A. Dixon.
Billy Williams was one of a team of great ball players and they where all an inspiration during all those afternoon games. A friend of his is a friend of mine.
Let’s all enjoy an ice cold Old Style and Chicago style hotdog and honor Superstar Billy Williams 426 homeruns. 426 um, why does that sound familiar.

SMOKE ‘EM Billy!

So he will be down for breakfast?
Correct according to Ai.

There was a recent, now deleted, post about his demise.

As it is with some old sports fans, we loved our teams. When a familiar name pops up it brings back fantastic moments and memories. Back in our day sport teams and players were loyal to their fans and cities. We all felt it and fell for it. Every swing of the bat, every pitch, every bunt, every error was felt by the fans. The ups and downs were real. Like I said any fan of Billy Williams and the Cubs is a friend of mine. Clank the iced cold Old Style or even Hamm’s!
But never ever bring up those dirty rotten scoundrels the :elmer:Sox.

Yep, he is, and I am the guilty one who posted what I believed was a real post from another supposedly credible site, which turned out to be totally FAKE!!! Thanks to a quick-thinking MOD, I decided to have him delete it and my original explanation as to what had happened. Now in this day and age, so much on the INTERWEB is now being AI-generated and falsely reported news and such that one now must be a lot more prudent when seeing something and just going with it as opposed to checking it out before posting. I did not in this case. And so, I stepped into it big time. Sorry for the fact that I did so, but I learned another valuable lesson...Believe only half of what you read, and nothing that you hear!!! Wise advice even for this Ol' Geezerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...cr8crshr/Bill :thumbsup::thumbsup: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

It's only going to get much worse. Moving forward, just believe stuff on this site. that I wrote.

My older brother is a Sox fan and so competitive that his favorite team is the one beating the Cubs. I will even have a cold one with him only so he is closer to needle him, when necessary.:drinks:
