Hardly.
Just because he wasn't well known in the US doesn't mean he wasn't in the rest of the world. He was very popular in the UK, had lots of hits and was very successful financially.

There was a time I new the correct answer. I think in Canada it is 78 for men, and 80 for ladies. The US is a bit lower, maybe one year, or possibly 18 months. The US numbers went down during Covid, which is why I am a bit fuzzy on the subject. And I did not renew my licence at my age 72.
I will be 80 in 026 and have a lot of plans. So anyone dying younger than me seems like a loss.
