Chrysler workers canned for drinking on the job reinstated

I got a buddy at that plant....His words two years ago..." they will get there jobs back... Chrysler did not follow the rite steps and screwed up " He was very glad to see them go but even the forman new of there lunches and said nothing....go figure

I remember when that video first came out I thought it was fake ha ha, seemed like a bunch of actors the way they put it together. Couldn't believe people still drink booze out of a brown paper bag.

Edit:

everyone knows that if you're going to drink on the job you pour the alcohol in the cola container ;)

It doesn't surprise me they were reinstated. Hey their man won the election.

Welfare and the UAW are popular? I will be sure and tell everyone I see driving a foreign car with an Obama sticker on it.

Would your definition of "foreign car" include the Dodge Ram built in Mexico, or the Challenger built in Canada, or does it only include the Honda, BMW, Toyota, Mercedes etc that are built in the US?

You talk about politics than say "Keep the politcal crap in the political section". Without welfare and auto unions the "elected man" would have never got elected.

Seriously, they learned how to drink booz from Woody Woodpecker cartoons. They would've been less obvious if they just had their beer cans out in the open.

A) those manufacturers have their headquarters outside of the US. Regardless of where they are built, they are foreign.
B) headquarters was smart enough to set up shop in right to work states.

Don't forget Subaru and Kia are built by us workers.

Does that mean that Chrysler is now foreign because they are owned by Fiat?

I'd like to know this as well. My father-in-law used to complain about my "foreign" Honda made here in Ohio while he was driving his Mexican made Dodge truck.

I know some of the people I work with have liquor on them and drink at my job (all older people). Us young people drink before or after work lol.

Y

No. Chrysler llc is headquarted in auburn hills, mi. Fiat has controlling interestbut not 100%. They are separate companies. If they were not, there would be no chrysler. Only fiat.

I worked in a union shop for 33 years and I used to see this all the time. There are good and bad employees everywhere. The main reason that bad employees stay on the job is mostly because the lower level managers are to lazy to go through the proper steps it takes to get these deadbeats out the door. It's not all that difficult. The union may be there to protect the workers rights but it also protects the employer. I have never seen an employer successfully sued for wrongful termination in a case where a bad employee was fired from a union shop, and I've seen lots of terminations.

The corporate office probably saw a decline in quality by letting the drunks go so they had no other choice.
