This is a comparison between the clutch fan that was available in the fan and clutch package from Mopar Performance p/n 4120759 with 405704 and I05C1A printed on the face. This clutch fan is 3-1/8” to 3-3/16” long and is clock spring style clutch.

The next one from Advanced Auto (CarQuest) 211049 with 170507621 printed on the face. This is the equivalent of the Hayden 1705 which original usage was for a Jaguar. This clutch fan is also 3-1/8” to 3-3/16” long and does not have the clock spring. I did not include a picture of the height measurement since it’s the same as the Mopar Performance clutch fan.

The last one is the Hayden 2947 with D204 printed on on the fan side and 294712823 printed on the radiator side. It is the shortest of the bunch at 2-13/16” long and has clock spring. This is a clutch fan that Hayden released specifically for Chrysler products so this might be your option if you have clearance issues.

The spring is thermostatically controlled. The Car Quest one is centrifugal.

IMO.....I guess on what you're trying to achieve.....something that resembles an origional vehicle installation, like a HEMI or Six Barrel, which used the # 2806070 TORQUE DRIVE FAN CLUTCH or # 2658456 THERMAL DRIVE FAN CLUTCH (found on A/C cars). Either clutch can be used with 7 blade fan or the aluminum HEMI fan...if you can find a good used one or # 2663216....the aluminum being preferable because its lighter.
NOTHING wrong with the Hayden clutches.....they just don't look origional due to the slotted mounting flange (for more universal applications) and strange looking fins on the clutch housing.....just not my preference.....plus Hayden is significantly cheaper but why scrimp on something most important ..... Just my opinion of course.....

I agree with you on the originality aspect. The original purpose for the post was to address some of the clearance issues that some people are having. Thanks for providing the part numbers for the original fan clutches.

I went through all this last year with my 66 Coronet bb fact air, and the fan clutch was toast as were all the belts. I paid big money for a proper one, and this info would have saved me a couple hundred bucks. Tha ks a bunch for posting all this.

I would like to thank both MCODECUDA and Snakeoil24 for the info. My 66 overheated last year with the Cold Case rad and OEM 5 blade fan. Bud suggested a clutch and fan setup. Ordered but clutch shaft was too long, "Now What". Read you guys post and Bam!, we're in bussiness. Thanks a bunch.
