Our friend is driving the 34 hours to the show. He is the guy in my post Carlisle 2024.
He will look at and purchase the parts if the price is agreeable. It would be very nice if he could pick up the parts at one common place if possible. Don’t know what vendors will be there.
We are getting hammered by the new duties, tariffs put on by our government. Should have bought this stuff last year. (This is life, not political)
Thanks

34 hours - seriously ?!?!?! There is a more direct route than going through Vancouver !! And don't be blaming "our" government !!

And if that's all he's after, the trip will sure as hell cost a lot more than tariffs and taxes would if he got them shipped. There are no duties by the way !

I was off a bit. Used the wrong terminology. Google maps show 29 hours, Saskatoon to Carlisle. Don’t know if that includes stopping to eat or not.
There was an article about a fellow in I believe Winnipeg awhile ago. Bought a car in the USA.
Got it to Winnipeg and he was invoiced with I believe a 20 some thousand dollar bill. Think it was a 69. He protested about and it was cancelled because he had bought the car before the new regulations came in effect.
There is a new charge collected by some government agency that has increased the cost of purchasing USA made parts.
My friend worked for the Feds. He has gone to quite a few Large Shows in the States for probably over 30 years.

I'm an hour from the border and dispite the tariffs we still order stuff shipped to a US address on the US side (since MANY Americans can't get their heads around shipping cross-border). Most trips are only a couple hours on the US side but we've only been nailed with the tariifs once and that was on a substantial purchase - $1200. US.. But the purchase was still tremendous bargain after the dust settled.

I heard about that got who bought the car. That was in the early stages before anyone knew the finer details. Now you can find ALL the info on the Canada website.
