Clutch pedal position

Hello all,

recently got my car back from the shop where they had done some adjusting to the clutch. When it came back, the clutch pedal was resting about 2” lower th and the brake pedal.

so I climbed under the dash and found this. Shouldn’t there be a spring or something that pulls the pedal back up to the stop? If you have pictures you could share,nuthatch would be awesome. Thanks!

66-70 over-center spring. A few on ebay but expensive.

Some aftermarket clutch assemblies require removal of over center spring.

The spring and the Hold pin are missing. Did they remove them?

Anyone have any safe ways/tips to remove the over center spring on a 69 Super Bee? The coils do not seem to separate whether the pedal is up or down so the "washer" method doesn't seem feasible. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That's how the "over center" spring works.
When it's at "center" the spring will spread furthest. Try inserting washers at that point.

Shouldn’t there be a spring or something that pulls the pedal back up to the stop?

The adjustment should leave the pedal at the stop, the spring on the fork assists.
Pedal could be too low to get full release of the pressure plate.
If the pedal can flop around and move up, especially if there's no spring on the fork, the rod could pop out of the fork.
