My car is making a little more power than the current clutch can hold at times so its time for an upgrade (71 Roadrunner 383, 4 Speed numbers matching). When I do a search over at Summit it asks for the input shaft diameter as well as input spline count and disc diameter. Can anyone confirm what my car has? Or will I have to pull mine apart before I can tell?
Thanks!

I believe the input shaft diameter is the same on both different input shafts, but you will have to know if the transmission has an 18 spline input shaft, or a 23 spline input shaft. Since the car is an original 383 car, I would assume that it has a 23 spline input shaft, but don't quote me on that.

11" scalloped clutch on the 10-1/2" BC flywheel and 23 spline trans I believe.

70-74 used the 10.5 clutch on a 130 tooth wheel. Have owned several and worked on many more with this set up. Doing two right now.

Yes the correct clutch for this car would be a 10.5" if its all original yet. Only reason I have an 11" clutch in my 73 is because I have the 69 bellhousing and flywheel.

So all this is inaccurate???

Well I don't know. I've never used a 11" scalloped clutch on a 130 tooth wheel. I've always just ordered a 10.5" clutch.

Yes, the 10-1/2" set bolts up and works. And that's what everyone seems to do these days. From what I remember a clearance issue occurs when the scalloped cover was used in the earlier housings.

I upgraded my clutch and flywheel combo for my stroker to the 11", problem I had is even with the mini starter I had to cut and reweld one of my header runners as the starter now was too far out and hit it.
