Hello! New here. Lots of great info here!
I have a 68 road runner that has a color code 999. It is a light green. Almost like the color of some government or fire dept. Rigs. I can't find any examples of it on the net. It is the original color, (it's everywhere, I've been under the dash.) The car does not have the original motor but other than that it is unmolested. My question is, how much does this color affect the value? Is it rare? It's not my favorite color, but the car is very complete and in good shape so it would be a good car to restore.
I didn't see this covered in the other posts.
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Raz

999 means 'non standard color' meaning the car was painted a color not offered in the official Road Runner color palate range.

It could be any color. It could be a specific fleet color required by a corporate customer, it could be a standard color available on another model line like a Barracuda or Fury but not offered in the Belvedere line, it could be a color offered on Chevy's.

999 only tells you it was a non standard color; it doesn't tell you what color it actually was.

UNLESS...plants could initially code newly offered colors as 999 then change to the standard code. So, this could be an early car of a newly offered color. What color do you think it is and what is the SPD of the car?

`68 paint

raz,tom patti. live in Denison, texas. according to my bookwork, the 999 is a special order color but don`t show what. sorry.

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal

Again;
like said above so eloquently correct by 69Coronetrt
it's no specific 1 color, it's a non-regular offered color, had to be a special order

not sure it adds any value, if it was Petty Blue,
well then it might, most the rest 999 code paint,
except really desirable colors, IMO don't effect value that much

rare doesn't always mean = added value

This subject should have been posted in the general discussion
or year specific forum sections too...

this is the welcome wagon not a Q&A tech section

good luck with you 68 RR, great year, I'm a little bias thou
