column shift to slap me silly stick

couldn't find the info I was looking for, so if a re-post of similar question/answers...sorry.

71 charger, original column shift, purchased steering column, center console and slap stick with linkage.
*
1) Does any one sell the brackets to weld or bolt etc to the tunnel, under the tunnel, on the trans or where-ever?

2) Have you made your own, got a how to write up?

3) Anyone do a custom cable shifter setup either modifying the slap stick or use other shifter?

Thought I'd check to see if anyone has done this before I start with fabricating and welding and drinking way too many beers...is that even possible

The slap stick is a rock solid shifter beause of the manual linkage. I have never heard of a cable conversion nor would I want one. You need to start a Parts Wanted ad for the brackets. There is a good chance someone has a parts car and the top of the trans tunnel can be cut out for your needed parts.
