Column to Console shifter

I have a 67 charger with a column shifter and a buddy seat. I bought the center console from a 66 or 67 and i would like to convert it. How do i change the shifter linkages for the console. What other things besides the mounts and linkages am I going to need to change when I switch the two.

You will need to Change the column housing bowl where the shifter was(not a must but would look better). You will need the wiring harness and lamps etc for the console, The 66 console differs from the 67 in length I believe. As for a visual of how it is assembled I will again recommend using a FACTORY Chrysler service manual it will answer ALL your questions.

I have spent the last two nights doing this conversion on my 66 coronet. First you will need the bracket that mounts to the transmision. They can be bought for about $35 on Ebay. That will have a hole in it that will dictate where everything goes from that point forward. Once it's mounted to the transmission, push a dowel about the same diameter as the hole up through the hole and true it up as best you can. that will give you the location on the transmission tunnel that the hole needs to be cut for the vertical linkage rod. It is bigger than 2 1/2" if I remember right. After that the real fun starts. I have no manual so I had to do everything the hard way. I set the gear shifter braket on the tunnel and slide the vertical rod into its top hole. Next I bolted the console mounting brackets to the console. then I set the console on the tunnel. I put two screws in that hold the console to the shifter bracket. I played with the location of the console until it was level from side to side. Then I looked at it from behind the car through the back window to see if it was skewed. I played with it until I liked it then put screws in the console mounting bracketsholding them where I had them. Take the console off the brackets and weld them down. I am still working through the linkages under the car. I am thinking I may have to fab a linkage under it for some reason.The column shift linkage looks like it will hit the tranny if it is flipped the other way.

Agree with xpsyclonex2002 that the trans mount for the vertical is where you need to start. Check the trans tail shaft for a mounting flange on the lower side with two holes about 1 inch apart. Without the flange it will be next to impossible to convert to original style floor shift. I converted my 66 to cable shift (B&M) a couple of months ago. My back up trans does not have the mounting flange so I assume it is from a later model. If you have the flange and want to go ahead, I still have the hardware to include the linkages. Alright i got the bracket and everything is mounted and done except for the link that goes from the shifter to the trans, i think thats the last thing i need

i bought a shifter rod on ebay but i cannot figure out which way the damn thing goes on.. i have the one end on the part that comes down through the floor and i cant figure out where the other end goes
