I just posted this on FABO and figured since it was a BB I should also post it here.

I just completed the rebuild on this 77 model 440 on 5-11-13. This engine was out of a motor home and was a reman engine with less than 20k miles on it. I originally was building it to install in a 87 Ramcharger project of mine but since then I found a real nice 90 Club cab pickup that was road ready so I canceled the Ramcharger project and have since sold the truck. I went ahead a rebuilt the engine anyway and figured I’d sell it trade it or store it for the next project that comes along. I cleaned and honed the block (bores were very good) and rebuilt the whole thing. Main bearing clearance was .0015-.0017. Rod bearing clearance was .0015 on all 8. Ring gap is .027-.029 on the first and second groove. Motor has been primed all the way to the rockers by rotating the crank to line up cam oil hole with the hole going to both rocker shaft assemblies. With a 18v Dewalt it made 80 PSI on the oil pressure gauge. Engine is complete as you can ask for and includes the alternator, P/S pump and A/C compressor. The pistons are .040 over cast pistons and the crank is .020 on the mains and rods. Cam is a MP4286677 and I installed it with a degree wheel @107 degrees.
Engine has 5 qts. of High Zinc Valvoline engine oil in it to promote a good break-in of the cam and lifters.
Below is a list of parts I used in this rebuild.
1) Federal Mogel mains 4924m .020
2) Seal Power rod bearings CB527P .020
3) Seal Power Moly rings E424K .040
4) Mopar Performance cam P428667 Advertise duration 272/272 Lift .455 and was installed at 107 degrees.
5) Set of 16 new 2011 Johnson lifters
6) Melling oil pump M63
7) 187 oil pan and wind age tray
New chrome dip stick and tube
9) 452 heads off another project that I had vacuum tested
10) Weiand 7500 aluminum dual plane intake
11) 1407 Edelbrock 750 manual choke carb.
12) 8 new A/C R-46S spark plug
13) Set of 3851 Carquest 8mm plug wires
14) Rebuilt electronic distributor
15) New chrome valve covers
16) New water pump
17) Moroso plug wire separators
1 Felpro rear main seal
19) Has brass freeze plugs
This engine is about as complete as it can be. It also includes the exhaust manifolds, engine mount brackets, carburetor throttle/kick down linkage, return spring and bracket, water temperature sender, oil sender, mechanical oil pressure fittings, fuel pump, ignition coil and mounting bracket, transmission flex plate. The A/C compressor is a reman with very little use that I had on another car. I will also include the original front sump oil pan and pick-up if the buyer wants it. Ready to run just drop it in your Mopar car or truck and rock and roll. Depending on what you intend to install this 440 in you may need to change motor mounts. Exhaust manifolds and maybe the oil pan.
I’m asking $1750.00 OBO or maybe a trade for something interesting. I’m not interested in shipping this engine, so local pickup or I can deliver it anywhere along I-75 from Tampa Fl. To Warner Robins Ga. As I make this trip all the time.
