Okay don't laugh, this might seem like a stupid question but...I have a 1973 Satellite, the wipers got disconnected from the motor. They are supposed to be connected by two metal bars. One from the motor to driver-side, and then one connecting the passenger-side wiper to the driver-side wiper. These bars are connected with circular "grommet-like" clips. I managed to find the clips and figure out how it all goes together. The thing is the connection points are in very awkward spots and the clips are pretty stiff. No matter how hard I, my buddies, guys at the parts store, or strangers coming over for a better look try none of us can get those things to sit right and stay connected.

The question is: Does anybody know a good technique to get those things on? Is there a special tool or something? Please help, it looks like rain tomorrow!!
