Conversion motor mounts

Would not the 400/440 motor mounts drop right in the spool mounts without any
mods = I seem to remember doing just that with my 73 roadrunner race car when
I put in a big block?

If i remember correctly you can bolt a big block in a small block spool mount K-frame but it positions the engine about an inch farther forward than a factory big block spool mount k-frame and a slight angle. Also because of the big blocks external oil pump on the drivers side the frame mounts are moved back a different amount on each side. I believe on the big block k frame the one frame mount is 13/16 farther back and the other side is 1 3/16 back as compared to a small block k frame. This might not be totally acurate since I am relying on my memory.

Doable, but is not the correct proceedment. you could confront some driveline alignment issues.
 
Well I stand corrected!
I looked at the pic and although my Roadrunner
was a 318 G code it HAS a big block K member in it
when I bought it
 
The new vendor has some limited stock on hand but not the small block to big block, they said February at the earliest.
 
Who is the Vender?
I wonder if I can get Big Block K member to put in 360?

I have seen a few put in with the drivers mount sitting in the saddle. Then they sliced the passenger motor mount bracket in half moved it the 3/8s inch and re welded it. Motor sits 3/8 inch ahead of factory. Then u need to slot the bolt holes on the tranny mount. Drive shaft will be that little bit short if u already had a 727 in ur car.
