Cool car for $1000 or under.

Those were everywhere when I was growing up.

Kind of odd that it's a supreme with a bench seat.

I bought my car dolly from a guy who had one in triple black with T tops and swivel buckets.

They had a common problem with the rear bumper bracket rusting out, and you'd see quite a few of them running around without the back bumper. Using my "Road Runner Latin", I called it "cutlass bumperitis".

This is one styling case where gm copied the waterfall grill from the 73? New Yorkers

A 63 Valiant for $350 last year
A 65 Coronet 4 door for $550 this year

Maybe 200 bucks. You could hope to scrap it, if need be.

My buddy ran over one of those bumpers at 70.....he was in a Omni hatch back...that didn't go well for him, said he pissed his pants.

I mean go one a craigslist treasure hunt and see what you can show for $1000. I no intentions of buying that Olds.

There are deals out there,,,but the reality is,,,unless the car is rare(and worth a lot when restored) or special to you ,the cost of restoring it far excesses what most people want to pay,so just sell it for what they can get.As you know,,, most basket case 60's Mopar B bodies will sell for a high price because after restored it will be worth big coin or they can experience the pleasure of owning and driving a classic timeless piece of history.

I'm sorry I worded my first post so poorly. I sometimes cruise CL for the coolest car under $1000. I have no intentions of buying these turds. It's simply fun to see what is possible in each of our respective CL areas. My question was meant to ask what kind of halfway cool car is available in you area for $1000 or under.

I do not understand what this means.

Now we know there is or was a 2000 Land Rover in Kingman Az with a shot motor that the owner could not justify the high cost of repair on that engine,,but a hell of a buy if you can put in a different running gear or able to repair engine. It would make a nice 4x4 because I think they were well built and exspenive when new And the bumper is worth more!
