I plan on upgrading the stock 318 radiator in my 65 Coronet with a stock looking and fitting copper/brass constructed high flow design. I would like to use a Mopar Performance viscous fan package and an electric fan set up on the front of the radiator. I have a 727 automatic tranny and a Hemi going into the car and my questions are as follows:

1 - If I go with a 4 core high flow design it will be 5/8" wider then stock (not sure if this will even fit with a MP fan set up) but it will not have transmission cooling capability. So what I was wondering is can I just use an add an aftermarket transmission cooler or should I stick with a 3 core which has transmission cooling fittings on the radiator (and add an aftermarket cooler)?

2 - What do think of having an MP Vicious fan package and a electric fan in front of the radiator....will this provide enough cooling?

Note: I plan on having a shroud and I really like the stock belt driven fan look.

Thanks for any advice you guys can send my way, it really is appreciated.

Should work just fine. Why viscous instead of thermo? Electric fan would be useless unless you have A/C. And a huge alternator to run the elec fan. An aftermarket trans cooler will do a good job,but if you live in cooler climates it may never warm up.

I have a 4 row 22" rad that came with my 69 RR and the MP viscous fan package is 3/8" away from the core. Not good. The 26" rads seem to leave more room for that fan so it's quite possible the viscous fan was never intended to be used with the 22". Can't say that for sure but I've never seen it. So I might be stuck with running a fixed blade fan with appropriate spacer, or the Jag clutch, or finding some other clutch fan that leaves enough room. My 4 row rad doesn't seem to be the problem because the rows are flush with the lower tank. I have thought about using one of those two row aluminum radiators but need to verify core dims.
