My 1966 Satellite came with this console top on it, but in every picture I've seen of the consoles they dont have this aluminum plate over the ridges. I am wondering if this is correct or off of something else, like a charger maybe, or another year? Also would the console door have had a plate over it too? My door is missing so I ordered a repop one, which doesn't have the plate.

Thanks!

66 should have the black center with ridges. 66-68 have the ridges, 69-70 has the plate on top for the woodgrain decal I beleive.

The one on the left is a charger console top.
Here's what the one in my 66 Satellite looks like:

Interesting, so charger or c-body. Was there a difference in the actual plastic console body? It's pretty rough but this is the console that that top was set on when I got the car.

67 Charger. I would rule out the C body due to the lack of screw holes on the top back for seat belt holders, BUT, not sure if a 67 monaco had the holders or not. 68 did.

Edit; I think I'd go with 67 monaco 500, can't recall a green console in a 67 Charger

A 66 console is 2 piece, they split after console door. If your not restoring your car no big deal.

Edit, edit, it's a 67 Monaco 500 console. There are clues.
They are quite similar, at a glance.

Awesome info, thanks. This car has been a constant mystery of mixed parts from the previous owners.

Not a resto, just a nice driver. I'm more focused on fit and finish than accuracy.
Looks the same as a B-body to me

Did you paint or dye yours? If so what did you use? I'm considering painting mine with sem trim black.

It's certainly usable for you, I was just pointing out it's origin.
