I bought a Dorman H99069 hose and its about 14.5 inch long. Wont bolt to caliper, too short. Thing is I may have put the backing plates on the wrong side. Never thought that they may go in front. My calipers are towards the rear of the car. Closer to fenders. If so.. well I can take the rotors of and switch plates. Confirmation please on correct placement or correct hose length please. Thank you.

What are you working on? A Simca?

Sorry. Thought I added this to the late b body group. 1978 Magnum
Far as I know the calipers mount to the rear. Google and you might find some pictures or videos of line placement. One video I found.

That is helpful! I took so may photos of the rebuild but none of the rotor, brakes. If anyone has a part number of a correct line, would be a big help. My FSM shows 3880804

That Dorman hose crosses to the OEM number 3880804. Post some pictures of why it wont fit.

Hose is about just a little over 14 inches. probably could use the hose to be 17 inches or so to be able to bolt to the caliper.

The hose is the correct number and length, but it appears you have the calipers reversed, side to side. The hole for the banjo fitting and bolt should be on the upper side, along with the bleeder.

The following image shows an NOS Bendix hose (88611) for the same application with a ruler:

This following image shows the two calipers laid out with hoses mocked up as if they were both going on the same side (passenger side) and the hose relation to them:

The following image shows a passenger side installed:

The banjo fitting and bolt is nearest to the ball joint stud.

This image shows the outer side. The hose connection is not visible, but you can see the bleeder up higher than yours:

Vaanth you were exactly right! I did have them on the wrong side. Brought back the cores in the boxes sometime ago. there was no numbers on the actual calipers that I could look at the parts manual but that's exactly what you said. It willwork fine. THANK you so much for your time, your photos and your work. I really appreciate it.
