Correct Socket Size for '71 383 road runner Harmonic Balancer "Goldilocks" Bolt?!?

Provenance? I bought it from owner #2 after the timing chain jumped. He owned the car a very short time; and already owned a '70 Charger R/T. I disassembled the original, numbers matching engine myself. Bagged and tagged the parts of course.

I had a nice and informative telephone call with owner #1 after purchasing the car from owner #2. Also, immediately after purchasing the car, I submitted a request (and money) to the Texas DMV for a copy of everything they had for the car. They replied back with a large, thick envelope of paperwork. This was back when they weren't afraid to provide personal information like names and addresses.

My project is to reassemble something that I personally disassembled. No mysteries or ghost stories here.

BTW, all numbers matching in every respect. Nine ways to Sunday.
All of which is solid enough information that it only keeps the same question in place. Why are they supposed to have a smaller bolt yet it seems virtually none of them do?

"What have we learned here?"

That Chrysler crank bolts still, and have always been, 1- 1/4 " head.

long lost research from last night which I am now sour about. You would think these sources would be uniform on data from 50 years ago.

In doing research you always have to consider the source.
