I was going to use this water pump housing on my 70 440 hp engine, and either rebuild the pump or buy a new pump somewhere for it. Is this the correct housing? Engine i took it off of appears to be a 1969 383.

It will work but not necessarily be correct. Heater hose sizes changed in 70 to 1/2 and 5/8. ‘69 had 3/8 NPT ports where the hose nipples thread in, ‘70’s have 1/4 NPT and 3/8 NPT ports. It’s a minor issue, but you’ll need to change out a hose nipple.

You mean change out the hose nipples in the water pump housing, correct?
