Tighten a lug nut to 100 ft/lb to test. If it takes it off you know it is at least that powerful. You can tighten one up as tight as it will go and test the torque with a torque wrench. Impact tools will wear the impact mechanism out on the reverse side depending on design.

just curios on the torque ratings.... can a adapter be made to fit both torque wrench tool and the impacted driver to determine the drivers torque value or would that ruin the tool ??
