Hey guys i'm new to the forum here but not new to mopars. I got my first car when i was 15 and i'm 28 so you do the math. lol But anyways i'm actually posting about my first car. Its a 73 Roadrunner and was curious if you guys had any idea how rare the car is.

Its a sunroof carfor starters with a 318, 4speed pistol grip, with 8.75 suregrip rear. Fendermounted turn signals and dual painted mirrors.

I've got another 73 in better shape thats a black rr with a 318 automatic runs and drives good.

So i'm just wondering how rare the car is to see if its worth the incredible amount of money it would take to restore her because to do so i may need to sell the car that runs. lol

Ok, how come there are stats on Roadrunners but not Chargers with sunroofs?:dontknow: IMO if I had my first car and it was a RR, cost would only be something for my banker to worry about. It does take money but restoring a car is about the fun. My best friend in high school had a 73 RR, 318, 4 speed that we had lots of fun in. His died of cancer. Now that I don't restore cars anymore I can say this outloud, " you cannot restore a car for what it is worth when it is done" unless it is a really rare car that you paid $50 for 35 years ago and that is a maybe. In my case I was restoring a Charger that a friend had in highschool that had some sentimental value but needed alot. I got tired of dumping money into something I couldn't drive and bought something better that I can drive. It was hard and one day when I commented to my wife how we didn't have any history with the new Charger, she said that we were building one though. In my case, dollar value trumped sentimental value mainly because it was somebody elses first car, not mine. At 28 you have all the energy to do the work, so if selling the other one will finance the other I would go for it!:3gears:

Im seeing a lot of sunroof cars lately.

Regardless, you will never get your moneys worth out of it during resale. If you want to restore a car yourself for your own sake go for it. Otherwise, just sell it or part it out.

Good question about the sunroofs.

I am getting my info out of Govier's white book and the 73 RR is the only one with any reference to sunroofs.

I have a 73 340 Dart Sport Convertriple as wll as a 75 Sport with a sunroof.
Nobody seems to have any solid numbers on the A-Body sunroof numbers but I have heard 800 to 900 total. No back-up though.

Thanks for the input so far. I appreciate it. I've actually owned 2 sunroof cars had to get rid of one of them though. Anyways I don't ever plan on selling the car. I'm only interested in restoring the car to enjoy, it's just a matter of which car to restore. I'm leaning towards the sunroof car i think its cooler especially with the 4speed. Just the cancer is so bad that i'm worried i'd be better off doing the more plain rr.

Then again maybe this is all a mute point anyways im almost positive i'm about to hit the mega millions. ha

And i'll get a pic up of the newer to me rr all my pics of the sunroof car i'd have to scan.

Cool. I would do the sunroof 4 speed car. Hell, do both!

Are there also numbers on how many 74 RR with sun roofs there were?
