All,

I recently acquired this 75 sport fury which still has its factory magnum 500 wheels. It even has the original goodyear polyglas white letter spare tire in the trunk! I'm debating on whether I should keep the original wheels, or replace them with 15x8 torq thrust D's from american racing (with black face). What do you think? Keeping the originals would certainly be cheaper...but I'd have to repaint them since they are a little tired. My custom setup would include a staggered set of 275/60R15 on the back and 255's on the front. I'd be getting BFG white letters either way.

I'm sure my custom setup would look awesome..but its pricey and the originals don't look bad. I've got to make a decision soon cause the tires on it now are dry rotting and worn out.

Tell me what to do guys!!

17 inch Magnums from year one would look great on there. That car is pretty big so I would the extra inches would fill the wheel well right up. And keep factory look

If you want raised white lettering tires then you have to stay below 15 inch. Then you can either buy different rims or restore the ones you have. I bought different rims Magnum 500's in 15x7 size. However the other rims I had were 14 steels so the choices were not hard for me. It had to clear the new front rotors instead of drums.

I LOVE 15" Originals....
I'm a BIG FAN of the Magnum 500s

Here is what I would do:
1. New Cooper Cobras and the 15" Magnum 500s
OR
2. B.F Goodrich Radial T/A with the 15" Magnum 500s

Your saving money this way and they look cool

Remember: Retro is in!
The "Classic look" is Classic!

The factory original magnums on this car are 14". I agree 15in would look better but I'd hate to buy all new rims that are so close to what I already have.

The 15 inches will look shiny, the 14 inches can look shiny with a little work and about 1 week or less.

You can also get the 15" in 7", 8" or 10" widths....

That thing would look bitchin' with some 15 x 8 on the rear with P275/60R15's and 15 x 7 on the front with either a 235 or 245 tire....

On my Super-Doba I put 15x8 Magnums from Wheel Vintiques all around, with 275/60R15 on the back and massive 255/60R15 on the front.
