D440 numbers on block

Question for the group. I have a D440 block with a cast date of 11 1967. There is a number on the block where the oil pan bolts to the block. The number is T440P22381943

Any idea what this number is for?

As stated above:
T=Trenton
440= 440 cu in
P=Premium fuel
2238=Wednesday, September 13, 1967
1943=The 1,943rd engine built that day (wow, that's a lot of engines)
There should be some stampings on the top pad with a little more info

Check the numbers again. An engine can't be built before the block is cast.

wow, that's a lot of engines Let's do the math. 2,000 assemblies a day X say five days a week and 52 weeks (260) days of production = 520,000 assemblies for a company that needed millions of engines. It would need to be far higher than 2,000 a day to keep up with demand.
