After watching Dukes of hazzard as a kid and falling in love with that car. Then to find out my dad owned one. I thought he was so cool! Sadly it was sold in '77 when I was 9mo. Mom loved that car she said:(

Did you ever try to find that original car?

This story needs a happy ending. (Settle down @Kern Dog ) :D

Lol... very true... sadly my dad said in '77 he couldn't give it away. Eventually sold for $600 to his delinquent buddy who had several stories on what happened to it. I was able to contact the Wisconsin historical society and found out it was junked in 1981:(

Nice story Jesse! I’m on the hunt for dads old 70 Charger RT always. It was the first car I rode home in that was also his second new car, sadly in Illinois they won’t help you thru the DMV, privacy laws. So I chug on in hopes it’s in someone’s garage buried . I guess the only thing you have is there is more motivation to get yours done.! Best of luck! Always treasure hunting for it XS29U0G170626!

My dad bought this off the original owner in 1971, still in the family!

probably not...

The real Jessie James from
West Coast Chopper & Monster Garage fame
lives in the Austin, TEXAS area, for quite a while now
he's married (or was) to NHRA F/C driver Alexis Dejoria

I highly doubt he'd be on FBBO either
although it's not completely out of the realm

LMAO!! Really??

Thank you for all the replies... I love hearing your stories about your dads cars. Even better if you found your dads car or still have it. Its important to some of us to get that same car back. I came home in that car from the hospital.:(
I have a Q5 turquoise 69 R/T that has been pushed in the corner for the past few years. I've been kicking around taking that car and cloning it like my dads... F8 green with the black vinyl top. Guys go wild when I tell them that... You cant do that to a Q5 car??

That is a nice looking car!
My dad bought one in March of 1969 and now I drive the snot out of it:bananadance:
Sorry about yours JesseJ :(
Thank you brother! I appreciate it! I'm glad your dad was smart enough to hang on to it. Lets see a pic of your dads car!:)

So true, gas shortages, gas doubling in price made these cars worthless overnite.. A tough time then not knowing if there would be any gas stations open to gas up.. My A12 car sold for $700 in 74 and I was really glad to get it.. LOL

My dad had his 69 Z/28 for sale in 79ish and had a guy try to trade him a 70 HEMI Charger for it. My dad turned him down as he didn't want a "race" car. Plus my mom was pregnant and they needed to money.
