After 90-plus views and no insight, I decided to do some experimenting with some 92-93 Dakota manifolds and check for clearance. I quickly realized that the passenger side manifold will work without issues, so I assume the same holds true for the shorty headers. As expected, the driver's side was problematic, especially since I have power steering. After many hours of grinding on the manifold to clear the power steering box, I got it to the point where raising the engine by 1/4" would have worked. Would this hold true for the headers? I don't know for sure. I believe, though, if you have a manual steering b-body, the Dakota shorty headers will work for you.
Having done all of that work for the sake of knowledge, I decided to change directions and purchased a pair of 340 HP manifolds; I couldn't be happier. Now, I need to unload the Dakota manifolds.
I hope this information helps someone.
