Hey there guys, I’m looking at picking up a Dana 60 shortly, and looking for some help reading these numbers. From what I can tell, it’s a 70-72 b body with 4:10 gears. What about the other numbers? And will this work for my 68 charger?

68-70 = 60-1/16″ axle flange to flange, 44″ perch
71-72 = 63″ axle flange to flange, 47.3″ perch, I'm no help on the stamped #'s

It is a 71-72 4.10, according to the BOM number 603222-3. Some charts list it as 70-72 but they are wrong. The 70 is different, as stated above.

Ten seconds with a tape measure, on the spring perches, will tell you if it fits. My guess is no.

Narrow it, move the perches inboard, problem solved.

He already has it, no need to wait.

He said "im looking at picking up a dana 60 shortly". I assumed that meant he hadn't bought it yet, wanting to know if it fit.

It doesn't.

Ah, in that case, you’re correct.

Thanks for your help guys, measured everything out and it wasn’t even close. Also couldn’t find those numbers that he sent me a picture of.

Did it have the pinion snubber mounting pad? If not, might be worth getting.
