Dash heater control panel get a light bar

Did only an A/C -Heater control panel that got the light bar? So a non-A/C did not get the 8" X 1/2" light bar?

My Superbird has a light bar from the factory and I added one in the Bee during restoration as well..

Yeah, my non A/C Road Runner has no light for heater controls.

Probably, because a map light delete seems pretty common. My non-AC car has the light bar and map light. I wonder if cars originally had both, or neither...

Damn, now I may have to look for a light bar and harness. Just looked at my spare heater control, no notch for the wiring, and how does it attach?

I noticed that with the spare heater control panel I restored, too...no notch. If I remember correctly, the plastic light bar has 2 tabs on the ends with screw holes, but the heater control can be screwed on without that light bar in place; the light bar just attaches to the bottom of the heater control plate, then to the underside of the dash. I guess if you wanted to add a light bar, you could simply Dremel out a notch and route the wires through it.

1 screw on each side. What notch are we talking about were the screws are? this is out of 70 charger.

That looks different than my non-AC '70 Charger heater control panel. The front edge where the light bar goes has a square notch for the 2 orange wires to route through. I don't have a pic at the moment...

EDIT: Here goes; from eBay. My original one has this notch. The 2 orange wires from the light bar run through it before the light bar is in place.

With the light bar in place, you don't see the notch:
