Dawn Wells/Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island....Cannot afford breakfast

A lot of tv stars, especially co-stars, didn't go beyond the show they played in. They didn't make lots of money either, same went for singers in many bands of that era.

The article mentioned she has a representative. What amount of money have they been taking from her funds? Many had managers that were taking advantage of them and left them with nothing. Then you have the ones that go through money like theres no tomorrow.

Wasn't there a organization started for actors down on their luck?

1) I thought she was absolutely gorgeous. 2) I have no sympathy for any entertainer/athlete who squandered their money.

Can’t expect to live forever off on tv show income. Everyone is responsible for making a living. We all make our own choices. Tight shorts or not......

Should of got a real job after the show and worked like a normal person!

I heard on the radio a GoFundMe account has been set up for her.

I remember interview with Al Lewis, (Grandpa Munster) from years ago. The interviewer commented on how popular "The Munsters" has been in syndication and on the amount of money that he, (Al Lewis) must have made on residuals; and how smart Mr. Lewis was to negotiate residual payments into his original contract, (if the series would have lasted in syndication... which it has). The interviewer went on to say that other actors from the era particularly the cast of "Giligan's Island" did not have the forsight to do so. As a result, most of them haven't received a dime in residuals in spite of the fact that "Giligan's Island" has been in sydication pretty much since it was cancelled back in the 60's. Al Lewis' response was "shame on 'em... SHAME ON 'EM".

Let the screen actors guild or the other entertainers give her money, they're so interested in all these causes.... bunch of phony hypocrites.

If you bothered to read the article you’ll see that she was surprised that friends and fans setup and contributed to the fund to help her after an accident put her in the hospital for 2 months.

Just saw her yesterday doing a promo spot on ME-TV for Gilligan's Island.

Yeah, she's far from the first of the one hit wonders that just disappeared after the show went off the air or the song left the top 40 list.
The list is too lengthy to post.

I saw another article on the net that said she was considering retiring the donations because she wasn’t in that dire of a need - and didn’t expect others to support her. She wants to move to a different assisted living place and they wouldn’t take her because of debt she was in form being in the hospital. So she’s not such a beggar as first thought.

Hear that actors and actresses get type cast also, and sure faggot filled Hollywood black balls them also. My late aunt had alot of old Hollywood hardcover books that i remember reading years back talking about how easy it was to fall out of favor in that weird town. I just didn't understand what they we're talking about because i was still a kid it makes sense to me now. The old click.

seems to me, that I read where she did sign up for residual income, and that she has shared that with the other cast members who didn't. I was sirprised to see that she needs the money (based on that)

I read an article that stated that she was the smartest of the cast for putting the residual
clause in her contract. She just had a lot of medical bills hit her all at once, and from what I understand
she wants to pay her debt. As far as I know, she gets a check every time the show plays in
syndication!
