Going to start building a 300 gallon electrolysis tank tomorrow. I've got the tank, got the rebar, the battery charger and the steel wire. I'll be able to do every removable panel of the vehicle easily due to the size of the tank. When parts are cleaned, I'll take them out, pressure wash them, dry em off and spray with metal prep.
This is gonna save me a lot of headaches.

I did that with my exhaust manifolds. Turned out pretty good. If I remember correctly it doesn't remove the paint.

I've read conflicting things about pain't removal, some say it does, others say it dont. I'm hoping it does tbh

To save time - what are you doing, and how does it work? Inquiring minds want to know...

I'll snap pics in the morning
Basic setup is a 300 gallon water tank (plastic)
Copper wire, pieces of rebar, steel wire
1tbs of washing soda per gallon of water

Simplified, wire rebar scrap in the 4 corners of the tank. These will be connected to the positive cable of a battery or battery charger
Submerge the part you want to remove rust from and hook the negative battery cable to it.
Chemically removes all traces of rust...and sometimes paint as well.

You don't see it in the pics I posted cause I didn't do it until I did the other exhaust. I welded steal plates to 2 pieces of rebar( not touching each other). It gives it more surface area to speed up the process. This also worked well on the control arms.

I think I'm gonna redo the rebar situation and line the inside of the tank with woven wire fencing instead.

I thought about doing this with my setup, but a bit worried about parts touching the wire. (my 'tank' isn't nearly as big as yours)
