69 440 built 9/9/1968 second shift. The numbers on the pan rail is the partial VIN #. It's a non HP application.

Trying to decode my 440. getting conflicting web info. could any of you guys be kind enough to take a look, and let me know? please? might be a trenton engine, 1953? premium fuel? built for export? stamped on machined surface, bottom, near trans. PT440P227907 12 digits, i have also found that...

Yes, they indicate things about the original engine build. Maybe someone else will reply as I don't remember right now. I believe they are mentioned in the 69 service manual in the engine section.
