my first car was a 1970 GTX and that was in 1974. My dad took me to a car lot in Cedar Rapids,IA and we test drove a slap stick torino but it didn't feel right so we moved to a GTX with a 4 speed. Since I didn't know how to shift, my dad drove the car, and I fell in lust with it. $1600 later and the car was on the way home with us. Being young and dumb I didn't know you were supposed to check the oil. $450 later was the cost to put the engine back together. Live and learn. Anyway I now have another 1970 GTX sitting in my garage that is slowly getting work done on it. I am building a rotisserie for it so I can get her media blasted this coming spring to see how bad she is. A little history on this car, it was purchased from a guy in Denver, CO who bought it from a spanish speaking male who raced it in New Mexico and Arizona. It is bare bones with primer on it, a lot was thrown out by the racer to shave weight. This car had factory air which I would like to put back in. There is some damage on the passenger side where the racer might have rubbed the guard rail. 3/4 inch of bondo on the front fender. Slowly getting her back and I mean slowly. The wife doesn't have the same goals as I have.
