Diaphram Pressure Plate?

I was reading an older thread regarding Hydraulic Clutch Conversion Systems. A member brought up another solution to achieve a softer clutch feel.... getting rid of the springs and change to a Diaphram Pressure Plate. Is this an option? I've always had 727's in my mopars but now I have one with a 4 speed. Any info on this conversion would be great. I want to go to my local tranny shop and talk to him about it but I want to know what I'm talking about first.
 
Well, yes and no. Diaphram style pressure plates can be hard to press too. Typically it depends on the clamping force of the pressure plate. Centerforce pressure plates reduce pedal effort at low rpm.
 
I've noticed that Centerforce and McLeods clutches are the go to choices for easier pedal feel. I will bring this info to my trans guy and see what he recommends. I'm glad that I discovered the option of changing clutches with pressure plates. I thought my only solution was to buy a Tremec. Thanks FBBO and its members.

I drove a buddies early MoPar with hydraulic clutch and hated it. The friction point was right off the floor and that does not work well when speed shifting. If just driving then OK, but I prefer a non linear engagement point/pedal travel. The OEM linkage seems to have a friction point up very high so with a tight adjustment all you need to do is bounce the pedal to shift.

Hydraulics are adjustable at the MC. Rod that attaches to pedal is threaded...or should be at least.
