Did any one use an E-bay Co. to take their parts and sell them?

I have someone who offered to sell my B-body parts for 40% of what they sell for. They have a large E-bay store and they take everything and pay you 60% of what they sell of your items every 6 months.

They do have a policy where they can sell multiple items for "buy it nows" to other stores for a faster sale. Did anyone ever use this service to their advantage. Or is it a scam.

I am having a hard time selling items at a fast rate on all mopar sites. It seems no one has interest in items unless they are next to free. And the venders only want parts that are high turn around and not the lesser items they would have to sit on.

They only want to pick out the good stuff and leave me with the smalls

This ebay company will take it all and guarantee a box lot or a multiple lot quote on items they take. There are to many parts to make a list of what is here. But they will take it all at once.
Give feed back please

I've used eBay for over a 15 years buying and selling stuff. Some of the items I had listed several times and eventually sold a decent percentage of it. It's all about who is out there wanting a part you have and also when they're on the hunt for it. You know, the 3rd or 5th listing is found by that person who is actively looking for it. Nature of the beast. You can rely on an service to sell it for you; but they can list it for cheap so they get rid of it to make their money on volume and since they have zero investment they care less unless there may be an option to not sell it under a certain amount. If you over-price the items expect no sale or extended time to sell and maybe get lucky if you have a buyer in dire need of the part or too tired to keep hunting. Ask me how I know...paying well more for a part that seemed hard to find only to find later other sources where I could have paid less! If I'd a been a mopar forum member sooner I'd have saved some serious cash. Anyway, if it's a hassle for you to sell yourself these services are there and your return will be less.

Just curious if you've tried offering your parts for 60% of your initial asking price?

That seems like a way to cut out this particular middle man.

Also curious as to what the middle man's fair market value determination might be.

Are we talking no reserve auctions where they keep 40%?

If so, you could be getting only a few dollars per item.

Can you negotiate a higher price? I have bought and sold on eBay and it can be a real pain in the patoo. Might be worth it to let someone else handle it. But like mentioned if you tried to sell locally or on eBay your self you only have to sell half as much to make the same money. Depends how much time you want to spend doing it.

The actual listing is the easy part.

Be careful about drop shipping, as finding a box, measuring, weighing, and finding packing material and bracing if applicable is the hard part.

If you are required to do that, you're already on the loosing end.

Taking good pictures is also a bit of a chore.

If you still have to do those 2 things, you're better off selling them for next to nothing and building a good reputation with your customers.

Be reasonable with prices and try to get all the key names or part numbers so people can find it

Good thought lowering the price 40% to see what happens. eBay has been an occasional hobby; do it when I have time as my work is busy then have gaps where I have more time. Yeah packaging has been a pain sometimes; but nice way to get stuff gone and get a few bucks for it to blow at the casino...tip for ya: The ATM's pay out the best; but they're difficult to use as there's usually a line of people wanting to use them.

If parts aren't selling, one of two things nobody wants the part or your asking to much.
