I have a 73 Roadrunner 340 motor I am trying to figure oout the correct routingfor the vacuum hose on the distributer it was not connected correctly when I aquired the cr and I am not sur how it is suppose to go. I have replaced the carberator with an Edelbrock 650 and I am tempted to just connect distributer directly to it.

There are two vacuum ports on the front. One below the level of the throttle butterflies and one above. The one above is only slightly higher and is the timed vaccum, meaning that when the throttle opens the vacuum increases at that 'time'. The lower is constant vacuum. Generally you will want your distributor vaccuum to run off the upper timed port.
