That's right, enough fixing rust already! Get yourself a clean, not rusty, desert dwelling driver. It'll save you bucks, and possibly tetanus, in the long run. The story: 5 or so years ago I asked a mechanic friend of mine if he knew where I could get a rebuilt small block and trans. He had this Cordoba, but wouldn't part it. I had to take it whole, which I did. I sold off the other project and kept the 'Doba, and this is what I did to it.. I'm moving from the eastern Oregon desert (no emissions testing) to an area that requires testing on ALL vehicles 75-up. Bummer. The body is straight, no rust or damage. Trim holes have been filled with fiberglass. I didnt want to do all that welding until I was sure thats the way I wanted it. Vinyl top trim pcs are bundled and marked and I also have the grille shell, hood spear and ornament, and probably some other geegaws. Wheels and tires are new. Rear shocks are new also. .Interior is okay...carpet is good, hard plastic parts are all in vgc. Dash pad and armrests are cracked. Leather bucket seats need to be recovered, but not the worst Ive ever seen. Rear seat back is perfect, bottom doesnt match. Its maroon velour, in good shape, but kind of grody. Power windows and drivers seat work. Speedo is in-op from when I removed the cruise control, it needs a different cable. Water temp, oil press, and fuel level have been replaced with StewartWarner mechanical gauges and the ammeter has been ditched in favor of a vacuum gauge. Windshield is cracked, but I havent gotten pulled over for it so it must not be too bad. No other cracked or broken glass. Engine was recently comp. tested and all cylinders had 155-160 psi. New intake and 600 cfm Summit electric choke carb. New HEI distributor. A/C was eliminated with new pulleys and brackets from Bouchillon Performance Engineering and a new single groove alternator. I have all the "take off" parts. New 3" exhaust from factory manifolds Thats a pretty basic overview, long as it is. Im not thrilled about selling this car, I like it and Ive owned it longer than any other vehicle Ive ever had. Whatever the next step with it is...interior, a "real" paint job, or cracking the motor open for internal mods, its gonna require some time that I dont have right now with the move looming and the specter of emissions nonsense to look forward to. Im asking $2500, but Im willing to negotiate. If you dont dig my wheel/tire combo, cool. Bring replacements (I dont have the originals) and I'll knock, say, $600 off. Dont want the dash and gauges cuz youve already got some? No problem, I'll hang onto the gauges and take, what, $200 sound fair? I can use that stuff on something else. No sweat. Lets make a deal. When Im next at a computer I'll resize and post some more pictures. I'm doing this on my phone, I can email pictures, just cant seem to get em onto the FBBO forum.
