hello from a newbie was wondering if its worth buying investing (time and money) on a 69 charger rt with no build sheet or fender tag .

Depends on several factors-

What condition is it in?
How much is it?
What is the original drivetrain (as per the first 5 VIN digits)?
What do you intend to do with it?

If you are buying a $2500 R/T with an XS29L VIN and can get the IBM card from the Chrysler society, then yes.

If you are buying a $10,000 318 car that needs $20,000 in repairs, then no.

I thought all R/T's were either 440 cid or 426 Hemi and could not be a 318, 383 ect.

What is the VIN code? Is it 4-speed or automatic? If 4-speed does it have the dana rear attached? The VIN # should tell you what engine the car orginally came with. Memory serves the 5th digit is the engine code, right?

Mark, you are correct, all Charger R/T's were either 440's or Hemi's. I think what YY1 was referring to was possibly someone's CLONE R/T that was originally a 318 car.
