Hi!
As a new member here I will start my project with a short presentation of myself and my car!
My name is Mattias and i´m from Sweden! I want to start by saying that I can´t speak fluent english!, but I hope you understand me anyway! This is a great opportunity for me to teach me English and of course show my project and get tips from you!
I am 23 years old and this is my first restoration. I will try to do as much as possible myself, but I will get some help with the sheetmetal work and paint!
I bought the car in 2009, and it came with a 383 engine, 8.3/8 with 2.76 gear and a 727 transmission!
I drove it for two summer before I started to dismantle it!

Last winter, I started to grind away all the paint and the first thing I saw was that the roof skin need to be replaced, also bouth quarter panel, deck filler panel and the trunk floor!
I ordered all the sheet metal from AMD..
I stardet with removing the rear fender and blast the inside and do a bit of rust job on the "trunk floor extension" and the "rocker panel".
Then I painted it with epoxy primer! When the fender was gone, I took the opportunity to weld there half trunk floor in place..

So much more than that have I not done because I´ve had a break over the summer, but now I intend to begin work with the car again!
The next step with the car will be to blast and fix the rost on the other side of the rear fender!

Hope you understand my English...
Best regards Mattias from Sweden!

looking good Matt. definitely doing it right.

Must say that drivers side rear quarter was pretty ugly.

Great project Mat and I too am biased. I also know the rust game all to well. Here are a few pics of my on going project.

Hi!

It´s been a while since I updated my project! I have worked a lot with the car and I have done pretty much since my last update!
Both rear quarters are now welded in place, and so are even the deck filler panel, trunk floor and the roof skin! And some rust holes around the car...
Before I welded on the news parts, I took the opportunity to blasted all surfaces behind the rear quarters and the roof and then I painted it with epoxy primer!
Now, it´s not much left to weld on the car and it feels very good! I have now started to grind down all the spotwelds on the car! There are plenty many of them...
I have purchased a car rotisserie whitch makes everything much easier!
By the way, do somebody have a front fender, passenger side to my car??

Here are some pics! :D
