The spare in my Dodge Caravan was under and a bit forward of the front seats. Underneath the floor, as in outside getting dirty. Two inch sized button is removed from the floor, and it cranks down somehow.

2000 Durango....tire underneath like a pickup with the crank down mechanism from inside the back after opening the storage lid in the floor behind the 3rd seat. Yeah, it got pretty dirty too but cleaned up easily enough at rotation time. My first wife didn't clean the wheels and tires because "why? They are on the ground" LOL
