This '64 car is stunning. Even better if it's a tribute specimen.
Also, what an incredible feat for the Red Dart Maxie here to have survived all these decades.

Thank you much, but cant wait to see that black beauty next month!
Me too. LOL. It's been undercover and paint mists for a couple of months now in between life, work and travel schedules. I wish there was another extra month of time to really bring out the roses. There will be a modest display of tricks.

There should be a host of cars at MCACN that will shame this one back into the trailer and there will be some that are just as thuggish and rugged. Hanging out with the sinners is always more fun. Get a closer look at this one and all the others at the show.

Stop shaming your cars paint, it don’t look bad at all to me… its pretty damn nice.

Your second picture brings back memories for me…. I remember seeing your car a couple years ago at Carlisle, I had no idea you owned it!

No problem at all Jeff, I’m glad you love and appreciate it. That makes me feel good, you made my day with that comment. That was taken in 2023 at Carlisle on Sunday in line for the winners parade, we were parked right across from you. Do you remember this car in line, a yellow and black 1970 Sport Fury S/23? I unfortunately don’t remember us talking with one another but I do remember the car…. and, wow was it a stunner… no wonder why you won something!

You guys lucked out because I heard at least that the Hotels over head of the show have booked up. I'm sure that there are deals and openings in hotels within walking or short driving distances.

per the MCACAN site 3 of the 7 hotels are sold out

The Donald E Stephan’s convention center in Rosemont where MCACN is held is in an entertainment district. There’s a bunch of hotels right across the street from the convention center. There’s even an enclosed overhead walkway that goes from the hotels west of the convention center across River road so you don’t even have to walk across the street or be outside if you want. And there’s another enclosed overhead walkway going across Bryn Mar road on the north side of the convention center to the 2 hotels located there.
Restaurants, bars, and a movie theater in the entertainment district also. Even a big outlet mall a half block southwest of the show, drop off the wife there if she gets tired of the car show!
A casino is nearby too if you are into that. Rivers casino is about a mile north.
I’m working there Thursday through Sunday. Thursday and part of Friday I monitor the exit door by Bryn Mar where rigs exit after unloading. Don’t try to enter that door on foot without your wristband or I’ll toss you out on your butt!
Over the weekend I’m keeping an eye on the stage.
If you’re not too busy drooling on cars stop by and say hi.
If it’s bitter cold and wind is blowing in that exit door during set up, many think I’ve got the most miserable job at the show. Don’t worry, I’ve figured out how to position myself out of the cold blasts and strategically under some big overhead heaters there, so along with a few layers of clothes, I’m comfortable!
And enjoying watching the unloading chaos and chatting with and helping participants!
I live in the area so this is my stomping grounds. If you have any questions where anything is feel free to ask.
Rosemont is primarily an entertainment city and they have a huge police/public safety officer force. Crime there is near non existent there so don’t worry about that. O Hare to the west, and the far Northwest side of Chicago to the east are pretty safe. Venture further into Chicago and you’re on your own!

Our daughter and son in law are flying in from Colorado. We'll pick them up at O'Hare on Friday, then we'll all stay at the Hyatt and go to the show on Saturday. On Sunday they'll come home with us for Thanksgiving week. It'll be a nice week for us, kicked off with the show. I'm glad we got our reservations in time for the Hyatt. As XS22J8R said, Rosemont is a nice, clean, and safe area.
