Finally heard from buyer today and he says (in a nutshell) that his ebay acct was hacked while he is stationed overseas in the military. I dont know if its BS or not

If his account was hacked while he was overseas, sounds like the "buyer" never bid on the car. The hacker did, so he isn't responsible for making good on the deal. Sucks for Roger, but that's the risk with online biz these days. At least he's only out some time and effort and didn't lose his car !!!

Me either, and im finding out more and more the past few years that things seem to be different then they once were, I was taught that my hand shake is as good as a binding document, "I give you my word" was a done deal, I guess the worlds changing, I know there's other things that can be involved and with dealing thru a couple people or sites things can get screwed up, but still, things have seemed to of changed...

it Happened to me as well, sold a 1971 chevelle, Ebay fees were 140 bucks. The winning bidder was 20 miles away.
he showed up to get it, $2200 bucks. he says finally, "it isn't what I expected". I don't want it. I said fine, Give me 140 bucks, and I won't post a negative rating on ebay. He got mad, paid the 140 bucks, and drove off. He called later, and threatened to send his friends to give me an attitude re-adjustment. I happily offered an invitation for a return visit, but I suggested he also arrange for an Ambulance, for him. I Informed him I was a crazy Vietnam vet, and I was well very knowledgable regarding the drop of A 7.62 shell at 600 feet. (distance to the Highway). he never called back. Piece of **** he was. I was hoping he would come back! Chevy Guys!

Well now that ebay has slammed the door on my"buyer"it seems he can get to his email whenever possible. His handle is sityam so be leary of that ebayer. Now he wants me to cancell the transaction so I can eat the fees and not give negative feedback. HA hell no

I wonder how many auctions these asshats go to and bid and never intend to pay how many different accounts do you have to create and prove just to get on ebag, they need to have more lock down rules not just neg feedback but less than a year online or 0 transactions ect. Did you ask ebay to waive the fees if you re list it?

Yes and they agreed. So I will relist tonight and hopefully a real buyer will come along.It sure was funny how responsive he became when he figured out that I wasnt gonna cancel his bid.

Ok my last update so I got my listing fees rembersed and relisted the car. It lasted 2 days and it sold. My problem is the first guy that caused me all the grief ebay wont let me leave feedback on and they still havent marked his feedback. BS I will never use ebay again. Protect the buyer and screw the seller. But I am happy I can start shopping again
