Hey guys, I am installing a new set of Legendary door panels on my 70 GTX. I installed the clips and put them on the door but not sure about the top side. They don't have places for the door clips like the rest of the panel but it looks like places for screws to fasten the door panel but the kit did not come with any screws. So if the top of the panel is screwed to the door what kind of screws should I use? Pictures would help! I bought the car with the interior gutted so I didn't get to take out the old to see how it should go back together!

Also not sure about where the remote for the drivers mirror. My car has a Hemi door from another car so I'm not sure where a 70 GTX remote should be? I have the GTX pcs that go over the door panel but they do not have the hole for the remote on them.

thanks

Picture is from my car. There is a stainless trim piece held in place by 4 screws with a channel to hold the top of the panel, It is screwed in place and then the top of the door panel then sits into the channel, then you push in the front and back panel clips then the bottom clips. Not sure if anyone is reproducing the the trim piece but it is probably on all GTX, RR and Satelites so most likely some used ones around.

The drivers side upper woodgrain panel will have a recessed hole for the remote arm if it came from a car with drivers side remote mirror. No one is repopping these so good luck finding one. Best stick with a manual mirror until you find the correct upper panel. DSCN3648.jpg

Thanks for the info 70GTX! I could probably cut a hole in my upper pc to get the remote mirror control like yours or just leave it inside the door panel! I will see if I can find a pair of the trim pcs, The guy on the ebay add wants over $30 for shipping from Alabama, JEEZ! Should be some around if I look. thanks for the help!

No, don't just cut a hole. The correct panel is recessed into the door. If you cut a hole the remote arm won't reach thru far enough to get the chrome ferrule nut threaded on.

Got it, so mine is now a manual mirror car! Wish I had the rest of the car that the door came off of. 1970 HEMI GTX R code tag was stil on the door before it was painted. thanks.

Anyone have any of the pcs that holds the top of the door panel like shown above? I need one for both the passenger and drivers door.
