Door panel weather strip

Can anyone please help me!
Should the weather strip be cut or dented inwards where the vent window pivot bar is?
The doorpanels are brand new and came with the seal already installed.

On my 63 Fury, the 'fuzzie' strip stops at the rear of the front glass channel. There is no need for it to extend beyond that point. The vent window has its own rubber seal.
