Drag Race Tragedy Texas

PRAYERS FOR STRENTH TO THE FAMILIES!! The loss of youngins hurts the deepest!!

The bad deal about the whole thing is people ARE trying, some times successfully, to shutdown SAFE, PROVEN DRAG STRIPS (Englishtown NJ perfect example) WITH INSURANCE, due to "noise" and other "concerns": causing steet racing and other "non-protection for fans" venues to pop-up. Some tracks were there BEFORE neighborhoods were built, Atco NJ perfect example. DAMN NIMBies!!!

No Prep racing is the absolute dumbest bunch of peanut brained bullshit that children and wanna be children whom are adult age have ever created.......it is proven unsafe and for what reason???? Prepped track racing has an inherent danger in itself but that is the only place that racing should take place ESPECIALLY in todays day and age of multi thousand horsepower type cars. When will people grow up and stop doing stupid **** with even more stupid people.

Never heard the term before.

I have seen you tube video of races AT A DRAGSTRIP, run the wrong way, starting from the end of the shutdown, and going toward the dragstrip starting line.
So basically, they were running among trees, with no guardrails (except for the ones that could impale a car that runs into the end of them, from the wrong direction.) with thousand plus horsepower cars, with no traction. What could go wrong? Not to mention the starter that could be hit, the hundreds of spectators behind the "starting line" that could be hit by anything coming out the back of a "race car" (think driveshaft or rearend parts) or the hundreds of people along the track (remember, on the end of the track with NO GUARDRAILS). So, water under one tire, broken axle, etc, instant car-into -crowd.
It's really a wonder I haven't heard of spectators killed before this.
Prayers for all concerned.
Edit: in the mentioned video, I think I saw three racecars totalled in crashes.

A sponsored event and no safety protocols for
spectators? Someone dropped the ball, big time.
Prayers up for those injured, and families who've
lost loved ones.

I've posted before that I thought this nonsense was dangerous, and kinda got the feeling I was in the minority.

I value my life and my car. And I want to go fast safely. No no-prep nonsense for me. I'll watch on you tube.
I have seen so many instances where a fast car, even with a great driver, is almost instantly "gone", so quick even superman couldn't save it.
